You may have noticed that I’ve had trouble keeping up with Charlotte’s Fancy so far this year. I had a feeling this would happen once I decided not to publish blog posts on a daily basis. The truth is, I’ve finally run out of steam after nearly five years.
There are so many people out there doing this SO much better than I do – whose originality and passion amaze me day in and day out. I decided that my last blog post should be dedicated to some of the ones that I love the best:
Scandinavian Design Favorites
- Nordic Design
- Home & Delicious
- From Scandinavia with Love (Tiger is truly one of my favorites)
- Livet Hemma
- LoveNordic Design Blog
- Emmas Designblogg
Best of Graphic Design / Paper / PatternsÂ
- Print & Pattern (One of my longtime favorites)
- Lottie LovesÂ
- Paper Crave
- Sara Strand
- Les Surprises de Fifi Mandirac (Fifi occasionally offers beautiful patterns to download, but you have to do it quickly – she usually only leaves them up for a day. The notebooks below are made with her patterns.)
All Around Greatness
- Poppytalk (If you read only one blog, I think Poppytalk has to be it)
- Bright Bazaar
- La maison d’Anna G
- Yvestown
- Eat Drink Chic (Hands down, the best free printables)
- Griottes
- The Designer Pad
- Hey Look (The only wedding/party blog I subscribe to.)
For the Kids
Crafty Favorites & Supporting Handmade
Isn’t it awe-inspiring how many bloggers there are all around the world  – all of them with a desire to create and express their ideas and share with others? Even this list is a pretty small portion of the blogs I subscribe to.
Words cannot adequately describe how much I’ve gotten from this experience over the years. The joy of building a community and meeting so many caring, like-minded people, and the gratitude for having a creative outlet when I needed it are just two of the many reasons this has been invaluable to me.
Thanks for sharing this space with me. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement along the way.
xo,
Molly

Thank you, Jen – that means a lot coming from someone whose work I’ve watched grow by leaps and bounds over the last few years. You are truly talented and your enthusiasm for what you do is so infectious. I hope everyone who reads this blog post subscribes to Classic Play if they don’t already.

Such a shame, I hope you decide to return. It’s not about who is better/more creative it’s about expressing yourself and finding stuff that excites you!
Good luck in everything you do xx

Thanks, dear. I agree completely that it’s not about who is better – I just wanted to recognize the ones that I think do an amazing job. I have to give up Charlotte’s Fancy because I just don’t have enough time anymore; my work schedule is too demanding, and my family needs me too. I loved writing this blog, but it’s time to say goodbye.

Dear Molly, When you said you had a full time job and do your charlottesfancy.wordpress.com on the side, the thought never crossed my mind that you would be saying farewell to your wonderful work. You have been and are a great inspiration and it’s my hope that I will make you proud as I carry on your name. It’s taken you 5 years to get to excellence and I even read your name mentioned in a stationery book so it’s an accomplishment to go out on the top. I’ll miss your blog and your excellent and creative reporting. Best of luck to you. Bee …………………………… Barbara Eastman

Bee, you are so kind. Other readers might not know that there was a time when I had two blogs – Charlotte’s Fancy AND Pushing Papers. I’m so glad you took over Pushing Papers, and I am sure that with your touch, it will be lovely and wonderful.

Thank you again for the beautiful calendar and cards, too. I love looking at my calendar every single day, and the cards have been perfect to send to family and friends. I even gave the pig card (“I like me with you!”) to my husband for Valentine’s Day! 🙂 I’ll always remember your thoughtfulness, Molly.

Oh wow, Molly. I don’t know if I can say anything that hasn’t been said already. I have enjoyed getting to know you through Charlotte’s Fancy, all the while wondering how on earth you found the time, not just to do it but to do it so well. Thanks to Charlotte’s Fancy – or, really, thanks to you – my girls and I have found all kinds of crafty inspiration and as a result have spent many hours on interesting projects, no doubt building good memories along the way. I will miss the blog but am grateful that I can still follow you on Twitter! Best wishes and lots of love, N.

Molly — I think you know the way I feel about this blog, but most of all you! It has been my absolute pleasure to get to know you over these past years. I consider you a friend, and someone with whom I hope to remain connected for years to come. I can completely understand where you’re coming from (the state of my own blog speaks for itself!) and you will be missed. Thanks for being my long-lost twin — I look forward to keeping up with you elsewhere in this wide internetty world!
