Better Than a Studio Apartment

Bonus Wednesday post!

I saw this on Inhabitat’s Inhabitots blog today and *had* to share the pictures immediately. Point Architects designed the Uroko House – an “igloo” house that has shelves for all of your children’s books and treasures, with room inside for a bed (and easy access to everything on the shelves) and felt shingles for the roof.

I am deeply, madly in love.

F is for Fabulous

I just love these animal alphabet posters by FORMbaby, spotted on ohdeedoh.

E is for Elena, and R is for Rosa

And let’s not forget M is for Molly.

Kids’ Activity Tables/Desks

Elena likes to sew, Rosa like to draw several self portraits a day. I have a couple of kid tables from IKEA that they use, but I’ve been hankering for something a little different. I would love to get one desk or table that they can both use (even at the same time), particularly one that’s big enough for Elena’s sewing.

None of the options I like are cheap (they never are) but here’s what’s on my mind:

The elfa kids desk has drawers for their supplies, and they could sit on either side:

Heavenly

Oh. My. Goodness.  The color combination in this room is just breathtaking. I love the chair, I love the floors, and I love the way the sunshine fills the room. The next time we paint the girls’ bedroom, I’m going to remember this. The paint color, if you’re inspired, is Benjamin Moore #618 (Robin’s Nest). The room is by Megan Cassidy Carty of Megan Creates, and you can see more pics on ohdeedoh.

Who Doesn’t Love Little Duckies?

Karin, this one is for you. How cute is this? From Amenity at Design Public. This is what I get for surfing blogs (which lead me to other blogs, which lead me to cute duckies) when I should be doing work.

P’Kolino

Don’t you just love the inventive design of this P’Kolino Klick Desk? Smartly compact, colorful and beautiful. You should check out their toddler bed, which converts to a chair. Neat stuff – and I bet you guessed it’s Scandinavian. It’s not!
