About

Molly and Ro

This is me, Molly. (Oh, and my husband Rolando. He’s cute.)

Here’s the story:

My friend Karin asked, “Hey, you want to write a blog with me?”
“Sure!” I said (not having any idea how to do it).

She had already started it – named it “Charlotte’s Fancy” for a lovely quilt she received after she gave birth to her daughter Charlotte – and we wrote it jointly for several months, sharing our love for pretty things, stationery, cupcakes, design, Etsy, kids clothes, and simple craft ideas.

The usual kind of bloggy stuff.

She has since handed over the writing duties to me, as life with a toddler and a full time job make it tough for her to find the time, but she joins me for a guest post every now and then, sends me links, and we still share pretty finds over email all the time. She has impeccable taste, you know.

Here’s what I’ve learned about writing this blog for more than a year now:
- I can talk endlessly about stationery, which is my first true love. I also talk a lot about dessert.
- It never ceases to amaze me how talented and creative people are.
- Writing every day keeps me on my toes – it forces me to do crafts with my girls, try new recipes and seek out talented artists when it might otherwise be easier to just watch tv or clean the house.
- In my blog (and Twitter) world, people are really really really nice, and I feel very grateful and lucky for that.

Hearing from you makes me happy. It also gives me the motivation to keep publishing posts. If you see something you like, please leave me a comment, and if you can, share Charlotte’s Fancy with a friend. You can also email me: charlottesfancy@gmail.com (sometimes I forget to check this email, so have patience – I promise to write back), and follow me on Twitter: @mollydea

Charlotte’s Fancy is just something I do for fun. Unlike most of my favorite bloggers who are artists/designers with Etsy shops and small businesses, I work in the nonprofit world for a philanthropic foundation. We give grants to deserving organizations throughout New Jersey (a job I wouldn’t trade for any other). I have two daughters, Elena (8) and Rosa (5), and a really funny husband, who is getting his PhD in Anthropology.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stay awhile.

xoxo,
Molly de Aguiar

Special thanks to Studio Chic Design who put together this fab custom blog design.

This is a beautifully organized site – it’s very inspiring! I wish mine were so cohesive. One more thing to add to the long list of things to do – spruce up blog!
