On a whim, I bought some sugar scrub from a now-defunct Etsy shop called “Sugar Lips.” I’d never tried sugar scrub, but it just sounded like something I would like. And I just loved Sugar Lips’ product design – she had great labels, great jars – really professionally done (see above). So, I was addicted to this sugar scrub for quite some time, and then I got the bad news that Sugar Lips was closing up shop (the woman bought a graphic design business and couldn’t keep up with her Etsy orders). She handed her recipes over to another Etsy store, but I have been underwhelmed, mostly because the package design is really lacking.
Imagine my delight, then, when The Small Object posted a sugar scrub recipe! I suppose I could’ve looked for one on my own, but it never occurred to me. I definitely plan on giving this a shot, though. I don’t have the slightest idea where to get liquid lecithin (ok, I do – she says a health food store), but once I get that and almond oil, I’m on my way to silkier skin.
Incidentally, when Karin and I went to Crafty Bastards in DC, I bought these adorable “Peg People” stamps from The Small Object’s booth. I like her blog – she makes lots of seriously cute stuff.
